Gerard Phelan holds a Masters Degree in Investment and Treasury from Dublin City University, DCU (1992) and both a Masters Degree in Arts (Economics) (1986) and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) (1985) from University College Dublin, UCD. He has worked in the Institute of Technology, Tallaght since 1995 and has also lectured in Dublin City University, University College Dublin, NUI Galway, and the University of Limerick.
In addition to his work in academia, he has worked as an economic consultant. His main academic interests are in Economics and Corporate Finance.
