Dr Damien Roche has been Head of the School of Business and Humanities at the Institute of Technology Tallaght since the Institute opened in 1992. He previously held appointments as a taxation specialist with Deloitte Touche Chartered Accountants, Price Waterhouse Coopers Chartered Accountants and the Revenue Commissioners. In his academic career he was previously employed at the Dublin Institute of Technology in a lecturing capacity.
Dr Roche holds an honours Law degree LLB from the University of Wales, an MBA from Trinity College Dublin (KPMG Award-Winner), an MSc in Economics by research from University College Dublin and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde.
Dr Roche is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute and a Fellow of the Association of International Accountants . He has served as a council member and academic advisor to the Institute of Incorporated Public Accountants and has acted as an examiner for a number of professional institutes.
Research Interests:
include regulation of the accountancy profession and the international marketing of educational services.
