Centre of Applied Science for Health - Building Commences

start date: Tue, 15 Jun 2010 15:23:00 BST

end date: Thu, 31 Mar 2011 15:23:00 BST

Construction of the Centre of Applied Science for Health (C.A.S.H.) research building has commenced.

Contractors have started work on the erection of hoarding along side the Synergy Building. The construction phase is expected to last 10 months with an approximate completion date in March 2011

The building when complete will adjoin the existing Synergy Building and they will share an enlarged foyer / coffee dock.

The research building will provide approximately 1500 sqm of laboratory and supporting desk spaces with provision for up to 50 researchers. A significant part of the development will include the provision of almost 500 sqm of innovation laboratories designed to accommodate industry-led research projects i.e. offering companies access to dedicated space for a fixed period or for collaborative industry-academia projects where companies can have a presence on campus whilst accessing expertise and/or technologies.

The attached images provide an artists impression of the building.
