Higher Certificate in Science - GMP & Technology
About the Course
To produce technically competent graduates who can work in production, quality assurance or validation roles. They will possess knowledge of regulatory affairs, documentation and processing technologies for both oral dosage and aseptic finished pharmaceuticals as well as fine chemicals. The programme will offer operators, team leaders and supervisors an opportunity to acquire a foundation in the sciences relevant to industry and to develop a broad perspective of the issues which pertain to a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
This programme will run over four college semesters part-time. Candidates must take all modules on offer in each semester.

Entry Level
Grade D3 in a minimum of five subjects in the Leaving Certificate examinations, (this must include Maths and English/Irish) or a FETAC Level 5 qualification or equivalent. Mature students with experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry are also eligible. Eligible candidates may be interviewed. Candidates must be working in an industry of particular relevance for the duration of the programme. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.Course Content / Timetable

This programme is designed to provide persons starting employment in the bio and pharmaceutical industry and/or persons currently working in the industry but without a relevant qualification with an opportunity to develop a relevant higher level qualification. €3250 per academic year (2 years) (inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee). If completing individual modules/ groups of modules the individual module fee is €450 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee of €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination (up to a maximum of €70 per adademic year).
However, as this course is supported by the HEA under the MAP initiative. The fee (per academic year) for students eligible for this subsidy is €650/year. For more information please select here.
