Career Opportunities
Continued expansion of the bio & pharmaceutical sectors in Ireland is expected in the coming 5 to 10 years. These are high technology value-adding operations which operate in a highly regulated environment. Ongoing training and development of staff in GMP is a normal and necessary part of the industry activity. Career options available include general operators in drug manufacturing and related operations, and quality control and quality assurance.
The transfer of persons from other sectors of the economy into the bio & pharmaceutical sector requires that those persons develop a working knowledge and understanding of GMP practices. This programme actively addresses this issue by providing a relevant focused training delivered in the appropriate context. A key constraint on this industry’s growth is the continued supply and availability of skilled graduates. There is an ongoing need for new training programs to provide a qualified work-force for company expansions and for new manufacturing enterprises locating in Ireland.
