Library Services
The library is one of the most important learning resources of the Institute and plays a central role in academic life.The Institute library is available to all registered students and staff. It is located on the ground floor to the left as you enter the main entrance.
Opening Hours
During Semester:
Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 21:00 Desk 09.00 - 21.00
Friday 08:00 – 17:00 Desk 09.00—17.00
Saturday 10:00 – 13:00
Out of Semester:
Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00

How do I join?
The Institute ID card issued to you when you register also doubles as your library ID.Make sure you always have your card with you as you will need it to borrow books. Library catalogue
Using the library web catalogue (TallCat) you can check what books, journals, videos, research theses etc. the library holds. It tells you whether an item is in stock, if it is on loan, how many copies are available and where it is shelved. Go to http://library.ittdublin.ie/search/
Borrowing entitlements
The library offers enhanced loan and study facilities to postgraduate students.
General collection — 8 items for 4 weeks
Short loan collection — 1 item for 24 hours
Items may be renewed twice
There is a penalty point system for overdue books.
Online databases

Journals
The library has a collection of more than 100 print journals and also provides access to over 13,000 electronic journals or e-journals. Older journal issues are located in storage and you will need to complete a journal retrieval form at the library desk. Search the library catalogue for journal titles to see what is available and for which years.

Inter library loans

Materials not held in our own library may be requested through our inter-library loans service.
This material may be requested online at http://library.ittdublin.ie/screens/ill.html. However for requests for photocopies of journal articles or portions of a book a form must be signed for copyright reasons. This form is available at the library desk or online at http://library.ittdublin.ie/screens/ill.html
Please complete it in print and sign it. Unsigned forms and forms with incomplete or illegible information will be returned and will slow down delivery of requests.

Planning and producing theses and dissertations
Get a feel for previous work done in your field by looking at the theses available in the library. You will find student projects, dissertations and theses in the library, these are available for library use only. The library has a number of guides on research and thesis production. Please consult the library catalogue for further details on specific titles on planning and producing a thesis at http://library.ittdublin.ie/search/
