ITT Research & Innovation Showcase- 15 October 2009

In October 2009, ITT Dublin hosted a physical and web-based showcase of its activities and facilities.  Open to the public, this event enabled visitors to view our state of the art facilities and meet researchers working with a number of highly innovative technologies.

During the Showcase, visitors were invited to learn more about the advanced research centres in the Institute and how they are conducting research and developing technologies in a number of key areas including:

• The chemical creation of new materials
• The spread of disease and infection
• Nanotechnology
• Environmental Science
• Instant blood sample analysis (for diabetes, cholesterol etc.)
• Helping Cystic Fibrosis patients fight infection
• Designing new microbes to fight disease
• Orthopedics in the 21st century
• Exploring the historical, literary, spiritual and cultural links between Ireland and France
