ITT Dublin approved as an accredited body under Council Directive 2005/71/EC

end date: Thu, 05 Nov 2009 16:32:00 GMT

ITT Dublin are pleased to advise that the Institute has recently been approved as an accredited body under Council Directive 2005/71/EC.

Having this accreditation will enable us to host third-country researchers under the ‘hosting agreement’ scheme and we anticipate that it will greatly facilitate the smooth processing of their admission into Ireland.  Of particular benefit to incoming researchers is that where applicable, it will also enable their spouse and children to accompany them to Ireland with no waiting period.

For those interested in hosting agreements, please be advised that they are for qualified researchers only and as such, are not suitable for postgraduates joining the Institute under MSc or PhD studentships.  To be eligible, applicants must also be joining the Institute under the following conditions:

• With a contract of between 3 months and 3 years in duration
• With a gross annual salary of €25,000 (or €30,000 if they are to be accompanied by family members)

We are currently looking into how hosting agreements will be administered within the Institute and will advise colleagues once a procedure is in place.  In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like more information regarding the scheme.
