Major National Award for ITTD Research Postgraduate Student

ITT Dublin Research Postgraduate Student Karen Tomkins (Dept. of Science), was recently awarded first prize for her oral presentation at the Annual Meeting of the Society of General Microbiology  in NUI Galway (April 2010).

This meeting was open to presentations from the University and Institute of Technology sectors and as a result of her prestigious win, Karen will now go forward to represent Ireland at a European meeting of the Society in Nottingham.

Congratulations to Karen and her joint supervisors, Dr. Denise Egan (ITT Dublin) & Dr. Kevin Kavanagh (NUI Maynooth), on this notable achievement.
