Directions and Exam Venues

When are exams Held?

  • The Institute of Technology Tallaght Examinations are semesterized and therefore held in January and May of each year.
  • The Repeat examinations for both the winter and spring semesters are held in August each year.
  • The exact dates for exams are released in the Academic Calendar released by the director and available on the IT Tallaght website: www.ittdublin.ie/AcademicSchools/RegistrarsOffice/AcademicCalendar/

Examination Venues

The winter and spring exam sessions are held in three exam centres;
1. In IT Tallaght,
2. St Maelruains hall, located directly across from the college

DIRECTIONS TO ST. MAELRUAINS HALL

- FROM MAIN ENTRANCE
- HEAD TOWARDS PEDESTRIAN GATE
- TAKE A LEFT
- BUNGALOWS ON YOUR RIGHT HAND SIDE
- ST. MAELRUAINS HALL 1ST RIGHT AFTER BUNGALOWS

(Approx: 5 minute walk from Institute)

3. And the main exam centre in the National Basketball Arena.

Directions to National Basketball Arena (NBA)

The Basketball Arena is right beside the junction of the M50 and the N81. Although you can almost touch it from the junction, you have to go in a long loop to actually get to it.

Directions:
Take the Tallaght exit off the M50 keep right pass the Spawell leisure centre. Take the furthest right exit off the next small roundabout and it’s signposted from there on Tymon North Road opposite the Penny Black Pub.

Public Transport: 77A 65, 65B, 54A.
Parking: Full car park facility.

A shuttle bus service will run from IT Tallaght to the National Basketball arena (NBA) and vice versa for the duration of the exams. The bus leaves the Institute STRICTLY 45 MINS BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF THE EXAMS and returns after the exams has finished.

Students will be informed when the timetable is released where exactly their exams take place.

All 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Exams are held in the National Basketball Arena.

Please note: August repeat exams are held in IT Tallaght only.
