Exam Results
Your exam results are available online (only). Your exam PIN will be sent to you by e-mail via the email account you set up when you started college (This means either the ITNet Email4Life account or the MyMail account. You can also get your PIN by accessing the self service form.
Go to http://pin.it-tallaght.ie to access this service.
An exam hotline is available from 8am on exam results release day. Dial 01 404 2007 for assistance.
How do I log on to a PC?
Enter your username and password and select the appropriate domain. Your user name is your student number (including the letter X), e.g X00014321. Your password (if you have not changed it) is your date of birth in this format: 05Nov65. Business and Humanities students log on to the STU domain. Science & Computing students log onto the COMPUTING domain. Engineering students log onto the ENG Domain. For security purposes we recommend that you change your password when you first log on to the system.
How do I access the Wireless Network?
The wireless network allows you to connect to the ITT Dublin network using your laptop computer at various locations around the Institute. Wireless connectivity is possible where you see the orange wireless Hotspot sign.
To connect to the wireless network from your laptop;
• Open the start menu, chose connect to and click on the ITT Dublin wireless connection.
• Open up a web browser e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari
• A welcome screen will appear.
• Type in your user name e.g., X0004323 and password e.g. 05Nov65. An ITT Dublin home page will appear.
You are now connected to the ITT Dublin wireless network. If you experience difficulties, call the IT support desk, Extension 2010.
How do I register for my e-mail account?
For new students, starting in September 2009, your email can be registered at http://register.ittdublin.ie. Once you have registered for your email you can access your mail at this address: http://mymail.ittdublin.ie or http://www.outlook.com.
For MyMail users:
Your MyMail email address is: firstname.lastname@mymail.ittdublin.ie (or whatever you changed it to when you registered your account)
Your login for MyMail is: X000…..@ittd.ie (replace ‘…’ with your own student number obviously!)
Your password should be the same as the password you use for accessing computers in the college and for Moodle.
For ITNet users:
Registered student need to create their ittd.ie Outlook Live account.
All institute of Technology Tallaght e-mail correspondence will only go to students with an @ittd.ie address.
Itnet accounts will remain active and users can configure their itnet.ie accounts for forwarding e-mail to their @ittd.ie accounts.
@mymail.ittdublin.ie users also need to visit http://register.ittd.ie to re-configure their accounts. Their old @mymail.ittdublin.ie
Addresses will continue to function.
Client Download: There is a single client download required. The link to this download
“MetaFrame Presentation Server Client” will appear in the login page under the Message Center.
At present this service is available for Staff, School of Business and Humanities students and Department of Computing Students.

Type the letters cs (leave a space) and type your query. Send to 086 600 0988. Your message will be picked up by our TrackIT system and you will be contacted by IT Support.
Where do I store my computer files stores?
The computer’s C & D drives cannot be used for storing personal files. You may save your files on the H drive of the ITT Dublin network. A minimum of 30mb is allocated to all students, the maximum storage space varies depending on course requirements. Each student is advised to make regular back ups of their work onto USB memory sticks. Memory sticks (USB) can be purchased in the ITT Dublin shop. Information regarding hardware and software special offers and discounts for students can be obtained from the IT Support Desk.
What other support facilities exist?
All departments have specialised computer laboratories for design, analysis, problem solving and presentation in every field of study. For this purpose both the School of Engineering and the School of Science have their own specialist technicians that support their specific labs.
World Wide Web access
As well as having access to computer networks within the Institute, access is also available to the World Wide Web, which allows for the acquisition of information suitable for student project and research work. Internet access is controlled and monitored to ensure proper usage of the Institute’s facilities.
Network Access
Each full time registered student has a unique ID and password, which allows access to the Institute’s network. You will be shown how to login at the start of semester. Login IDs and Passwords are not to be shared. Each student has access to store course related work on the network.
What Printing Facilities are available in the computer labs?
Printing is available in all computing labs and post graduate accommodation. The Reprographics Centre maintains all printing and copying devices in the Institute. The Reprographics Centre is managed by IBS and is located on the first floor beside the yellow stairs.
