Use of mathematical and statistical models to simulate the spread of the disease within the lungs and among the general population

In a project that has recently begun, we will use mathematical dynamical systems and complex statistical models to investigate the relationship between key epidemiological parameters and to simulate the spread of the disease within the lungs, the human body and among the general population.  This will provide the CHHI team with the skills to design, develop and implement dynamical systems to simulate the spread of the infection. Similar work has been carried out by Dr. Crispino on Meningococcal Meningitis (Crispino-O’Connell 2003).
