Drama Society
he Drama Society reached dizzy heights last year with their most successful year to date. Student Members wrote and directed 'THE MORTAL PITCH' which starred over 20 student actors between two performances in Dublin and Gorey, Co. Wexford, where the play was set.
The Society won “Most Successful Society 2004” at the annual awards with Chairperson Jessica Kelly taking “Best Organiser and Contribution 2004”. On top of that they received a special mention at the Annual BICS awards for all their hard work and developments.
Drama normally takes place Monday and Tuesday evenings in St. Maelruains Hall. Membership is made up of students and staff from many different courses and is open to all, regardless of experience. As well as aspiring actors, writers and directors, extra hands are always needed to help with sound, lighting and backstage. The society also organise workshops, theatre trips and socials, to which all are welcome.
