Important Information

Event Attendance Forms
Students taking part in inter college competitions are excused from classes if they fill out the Event Attendance Form and present it to their lecturer prior to the event. They are then marked present. However if you are absent from labs you loose the continuous assessment mark if no other arrangement can be made. With regard to assessments, if they occur on the day of competition, it is at the discretion of the individual lecturer whether a re-sit can be arranged. These forms are available from your Club Secretary.

Sports Courtesy
There is an onus on all members of sporting clubs that are selected to represent their college to make themselves available, or to notify their respective captain in due time of their unavailability.

Sports Injuries, First Aid & Medical Support
Medical and Physiotherapy Support is available for students injured training or playing with the College. Every club must bring a medical kit with them to all events. This is available from the Health Centre and includes an accident and incident Report Form. In the event of an injury a report form must be filled out and returned to the Health Centre within 24 hrs. You should also notify your coach/development officer/sports officer at the time of injury as they will need to sign off on the Accident form.

Physiotherapy will be offered if recommended by the Health Centre or Sports Officer. To avail of this free of charge you will need to complete an Insurance form available in the Health Centre.

It is desirable that a core member(s) of all clubs and societies have undergone a first aid course to facilitate any injury or illness that might occur when teams are representing the College. An Emergency first Aid course will be made available to
members at the commencement of the year – contact the Sports and Recreation Officer for further details.
